Oh here we are...

A year is a long time to go without saying something worth while. I can't say that I am going to say anything with actual significance. But here it goes.
Brent had an interview for Placer County and it went well but he was not chosen. Of the 12 they even interviewed only 3 were hired. They told him to reapply. That they wanted him, just not enough room right now. So reapply he did, and we wait. He is still in the jails, waiting for the opening to streets.
I am now waiting for my transfer to the ICU. Med/surg is not the place for me. I am constantly finding something to do because I find there is too much down time. I need excitement and movement. I need critical people so that I feel justified in my intelligence. So that I will not feel that my years of Hell were not just a waste of time to pushing narcotics and hanging IV antibiotics.
Rebecca had a wonderful time with her ballet recital, she was adorable. We removed her from the dance studio however, there were some questionable decisions from the owner. We are currently looking for another place. She will be in third grade this year, and how time flies! I am so excited that they are growing, but still sad.
Jordan is starting second grade and I am also excited for that. He turned out to be a very good reader. Now we just need to work on his hand writing. (Like Father Like Son). I am also looking into a sport for him, he needs something to do that he can focus his abundant energy toward. We shall see.
Dillon is going to be 5 tomorrow! And of course mom and dad are working. Hopefully I can pull something together for the weekend. He is an amazing boy. We are not going to put him in kindergarten this year. I just don't think it will be beneficial for him. I don't want him to fall behind then get left behind. It will break his heart. So as hard as it was, he will stay home another year. But it will not falter him developmentally, it will only help him flourish next year.
We have a new puppy in the family. His name is Chewy and he is a Yorkie. He is adorable and loves to be in the lap :) Duke is well, he is finally calming down so we can enjoy him. Holly is still kicking, still holding her own. We love our little family and our little piece of happiness.

Back again.

Well, since my last hiatus there have been many changes in the land of the Faylor Family.
Brent is still working (thank the Lord) and has officially applied for a lateral transfer to Placer county in Northern California. We are anxiously awaiting the call when they tell us, "You're in, come up now." Brent has stated several times, with me as a little echo, how ready he is to leave the area. There is just no good around here.
I am a graduate, and I am stinking excited for it! I officially have my RN license and am legal to practice nursing in the state of California. I have come to realize that being licensed is only half the battle, because of the fine State of Cali, there is no money to hire people. So what good is the degree when there is no positions?? We shall see what God has in store. And I am going back to school! Complete online RN to BSN program is what I need.
Rebecca is now starting the second grade in 2 weeks. She has continued her reading throughout summer, following Mom's example naturally. She is growing more and more beautiful every day. Now if only her attitude would follow suit, we would be in business. But what else can we expect from not only the eldest child but a girl none the less?
Jordan is well Jordan. Easy to smile and to pout. And we love him just the way he is. He too has been getting ready for school, trying to read more. He is losing his baby teeth and loving every second of it. His claim to fame this summer is learning to swim without floaties. If you give him a chance, he will be the first to give a show-and-tell.
Dillon has really come out of his shell this summer, he talks incessantly. He has his own thoughts, beliefs and stories that he must tell everyone about. He loves his cars and anytime he sees one of his favorites he has to scream as loud as a cawing bird that "I see it, Mooooom, Daaad, look! It's wed like light Queen!" If you could not decifer what he was saying it was 'red like Lightning McQueen.'
This summer has been full of fun things with family and friends. I will post all those adventures on another blog.

Home again.

It felt so wonderful coming home. Today was the first day that i have been home and able to sit. And doing that, I feel like I am not doing ANYTHING! Ah, so off to the book store we go. Maybe tonight I will sit down and jot all the NY festivities for all to enjoy. i love that school has made me unable to sit for long periods of time. One day I might be able to be idle, just not today.

Oh yea!

We are moving next Friday. Once we have all the details I will be updating everyone. Love you all.

Summer Days

I thought that this summer was more or less a waste, but it really wasn't. We did a lot of really fun things.


We found an awesome park in Claremont that had these amazing trees that both Brent and the kids were climbing on.


We even went to Mohave Narrows and had one really fun day trying to beat the heat with their water park. Rebecca even saw one of her classmates there. It was so cute watching ALL the kids there having a blast.


Brent and I were able to steal away from the kids for a weekend and spent time in Vegas together. I was able to see my sisters and just hang out. It was so much fun going out and being adults.


For 4th of July my sister came and stayed at a hotel with a pool right around the corner from us. It was so cute watching the kids play with their Cousin Zain.



We went out for Ice Cream a few times. And Boy! do those kids love their Ice Cream.



We were also able to head down to San Diego and catch the Toby Keith concert. It was so much fun, Brent tries to make it look like he doesn't like Country music but do not be fooled. And sorry for the nostril shot :)



We then took the kids to San Fran the week before I started classes. The kids had so much fun, they were completely awed by the size of buildings and the bridges. We took them to all our favorite places and also a new museum in San Fran.




All in all, what a great Summer. I wanna do something as fun over winter break... we will see.

Finally dropped below my plateau.

I have officially lost more weight; I am below my norm for the past 5 months. I am so excited!

Why is it...

That death tends to bring out the ugly in people??? I just don't get it.
