On Wednesday night I came home from school late b/c I had a meeting with my instructor at 5pm. When I walked through the door I smell yummy food cooking, and a fire burning. I look around the house and it is immaculate. The kids run down stairs all of them bathed and have PJ's in hand. I stop short, look at my hubby, and say "Ok what happened? What did you do?" He just smiles and we proceed to eat our meal. After dinner I thoroughly praise him for all his work that day. And we continue to fill each other in of our days. When we had finished catching up he tells me to head up to bed and that he will get the kids to sleep. I tell him that I have to get ready for my 415 morning. What does he do? He says, "I will get it all together, go ahead." My head is still reeling from this. He is too good to me.
So not only is he helping me out with everything but he has promised me Hawai'i in May. I am so excited! We were supposed to go to New York for a friends graduation but she is undergoing Chemo for cancer, so she is not graduating on time. Brent had taken the time off for work already so we have a week, we decided somewhere we have never been would be great. Hawai'i is the place. Now we just need people to volunteer to care for kiddos, any takers? We would greatly appreciate it...

Valentine's Day
I hate Valentine's Day. The last time I had a good Valentine's day was our first back in High School. It was so sweet. I hate that it is so commercialized. Who said that we are to give flowers, presents, candies, or do something sweet? Oh corporate America is to blame for this one folks. Have you realized that we have come to expect these things when there is absolutely no reason for this ritualistic holiday? So when this stupid holiday comes and goes with disappointment, who are we to blame? Ourselves, for even thinking that something great will happen. I know I sound bitter but I am all alone on this stupid day. No family, friends, or hubby to keep me company. My kids are here but if I try anything fun or cute they all say 'no' and demand candy instead. Today is a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. (I like Alexander). I HATE Valentine's Day. Just needed to vent. Hope yours is better.

I have the urge to praise my hubby.
I came home yesterday from class (oh like that is a big surprise, when am I not there?) My car's brake line was cut (long story, we aren't sure if some foul play is at hand, most likely.) I went to my in-law's home b/c mom was watching kiddos for me. While there I had received a call from Brent asking if I made it home ok in the storm. We agreed that he would meet all of us at his parent's house since mom invited us to stay for dinner. (I think she enjoys our company but I really think she was using me a bait to get Brent over there :) When he shows up he chows some food down and heads to use the computer. (My computer's charger was in shambles, thus having no computer) Maybe some don't know but Brent is currently taking courses online through San Bernardino Valley College. He is trying to attain his Associates degree in Criminal Justice. He only needs to take 8 classes to get it. (the brat got 40 units in 6 months thru the academy). So as I am watching him pluck away at the keyboard, I had this huge wave of appreciation for my husband.
Not only is this man out there to care for people (even if right now its the law-breakers), but he is providing for the family. He helps out tremendously with the house and kids so that I can fulfill my dream of completing school, without complaint mind you. Now too, he is getting his degree on top of everything else. Oh and did I mention that he still finds time to do projects? I am starting to feel inferior to him, ha ha.
But on a serious note, I love him. I am so grateful that God has him in my life. He might be quiet and kick back, but he is also so strong and something to be appreciative of. So there was my moment of building my hubby up. Because that is my job as his wife, to build him up and to let everyone know what a great guy he is.
Love you all, care to write something similar of your loved one???
